During 57357’s celebration of world’s social work day: The mothers of 57357’s patients thank the medical social work team for their support

In attendance of professors of social work faculties of different institutions such as Helwan, Beni Suef and Alfayoum universities, the High Institute of Social work in Nasr City and Garden City along with a number of students, Hospital 57357 held the annual celebration of social work day. The attendees including Sheikh Mahmoud Alshobki from Al-Azhar and representatives of the guesthouses that host our sick children and their families were welcomed by Hospital management and the social work department.

The celebration included a speech by Dr. Essam Shawki, Head of 57357’s Social work department in which he highlighted the role of social work in community development. He declared that, citizens wellbeing and their right in a decent life and in receiving good education and medical care are the main interest of social work. He presented the department’s role and contribution to 57357’s children’s treatment journey, preparing the children to adopt a life style that enables them to deal with their suffering and become stronger. Social work specialists along with psychologists help children to overcome their fear and to think positively, besides providing moral support to their families. In 57357, social work department plays an important role and is an integral part of the healthcare team.

During the celebration, 57357’s choir presented songs followed by testimonials of some mothers on the role of the social work team in lifting up their children’s morale and accordingly their health condition.

Sheikh Alshobki gave a speech to stress on the important role played by the social work team, and how they follow Prophet Mohammed’s example in working for the wellbeing of people around them and peace and tranquility of the communities. “On behalf of 57357’s children, we express gratitude to the social work team for their efforts, as they are a symbol of dedication and giving,” he added.

In 57357, the social work department is sending out a message of hope and restoration to our sick children. Every member of the social work team deals with our children like they were his own, and offers full support to their parents throughout the hard treatment journey. They help them go through the journey without fear, enabling real change in their lives.
